The BVCC Outdoor Citronella Candle takes the familiar citronella candle and rebuilds it through the lens of The Black Virgin Candle Co.—rugged concrete, black wax, substantial weight, and an aromatic profile designed specifically for the outdoors.
At the center of the accord is Citronella Essential Oil, layered with Lemongrass, Herbal Mint, Sweet Basil, and Clove. Together, they create a fresh, green, herbal scent with a subtle earthy spice—an intentionally botanical profile made for patios, decks, porches, and other open-air spaces.
Citronella and strongly aromatic botanicals such as lemongrass, mint, basil, and clove have a long history of use in outdoor environments because of their bold, distinctive aromatic character. Rather than disguising that identity, BVCC puts those ingredients at the forefront, creating an outdoor candle that smells purposeful, refined, and unmistakably botanical.
The approximately 27 oz candle is poured with three wicks to create a broad, balanced melt pool across the oversized square vessel. Its charcoal-black wax reinforces the signature BVCC aesthetic while the flames transform the surface into a deep, glossy black as the candle burns.
Every vessel is hand-poured in cement, giving each piece its own natural pores, tonal variation, markings, and casting character. The substantial 4" × 4" cube construction gives the candle the visual weight of an architectural object rather than a disposable outdoor accessory.
The bottom is finished with a full black felt lining, protecting the surface beneath it while completing the dark, tactile BVCC presentation.
